Just a stone’s throw from the crystal-clear waters of Hiriketiya beach, this exceptional boutique blends clean design with a warm, welcoming atmosphere, true to the vision of its founder, Gabrielle Kool. After dedicating several years to her swimwear brand in South Africa, Gabrielle made the bold decision to leave everything behind her. In search of a more serene way of life, she decided to create her own peaceful sanctuary in Sri Lanka. 

The shift was inspired by a transformative journey, a meaningful connection with a vibrant local community, and love at first sight with a sun-drenched location. The store’s every detail echoes the lush, tropical surroundings: polished concrete floors, light wood structures, and large windows, blurring the line between indoors and outdoors, while luxuriant plants infuse the space with a calming, rejuvenating energy.

Catering to travelers in search of unique, ethical pieces, the selection at Ketiya Boutique reflects a deeply committed vision of beachwear fashion. Gabrielle offers brands that share her values of sustainability and artisanal craftsmanship, like Nette Rose lingerie, Follow The Elephant loungewear, and her own label, Gabrielle Swimwear. Men are also catered for with a carefully curated selection that includes brands Granadilla Swim and Breazies. 
Next to the fitting rooms, a cozy lounge offers the opportunity to take a break while leafing through a book, sipping a coffee, and gazing at the garden, where monkeys calmly stroll across the rooftop. Le Ketiya goes beyond retail; it is a haven where stories are shared and connections bloom, an enchanted corner where every visitor experiences something personal and profound. Five years after opening, the boutique continues to embody Gabrielle’s vision: a delicate balance of aesthetics, ethics, and a gentler way of living.
