MarediModa: the Show for European Fabrics

The European textiles, prints and accessories fair for the world of beachwear closed its 2018 edition on a positive note, reinforcing its status as an unmissable event for stylists and buyers alike.

The 17th edition of MarediModa took place this year from November 6-8, 2018, at the Palais Des Festivals in Cannes, showing a remarkable success that grows on that of the 2017 edition. More than 3,000 buyers, coming mainly from Europe, attended the show and were able to preview the Winter 2020 collections of more than 110 European companies

“On all fronts, it has been a positive edition" commented Marco Borioli, the show’s president. "It has confirmed our position as a point of reference for the medium-high end markets in swimwear, intimates and athleisure. This last sector, into which we have invested a lot of energy and resources over the last two years, is growing sharply, and plays a part in the increasingly topical concept of styles made with crossover and citations between different sectors.”

“The reason for this success," continued Borioli, "is first and foremost the framework of the show: as the quality of the collections exhibited, the opportunities for in-depth study, the events, the display of trends and, overall, the friendly atmosphere that is everywhere at the show. It is an unmissable event for anyone working in our three key sectors.”


INTIMABOX MAKES ITS CANNES DEBUT
Already a media partner of MarediModa for a number of years, this year our media group brought the famous Intimabox: a space dedicated to creating short, informative videos destined for online distribution. At the Intima Media Group stand, a stone’s throw from the conference hall, many expositors and visitors dropped by to share their news.

INTIMA AT THE CENTER OF NEW INFORMATION
As a partner of MarediModa, this year Intima Media Group was once again at the heart of some of the salon’s most informative events. On 6 November the round table 'Here to innovate. From fibers to 3D avatars. Why athleisure is the winning bet for the future,' moderated by Francesca Spinetta, Editorial Director at Intima Media Group, offered insight into textile innovation with a focus on athleisure and the evolution of 3D digital processes for fashion. The event boasted a panel of leading speakers: Judith A. Russell, Global Marketing Strategist at Nilit America; Luca Salvatori, Sales Manager at Sistemi Assyst; and David Shah, trends analyst and Editor of View magazine.

On Wednesday November 7th, the BEACHFABRICTRENDS by Intima Media Group conference was yet again a huge hit for attendees, confirming its importance as an unmissable event at Cannes in its ninth consecutive year. From store favorites and the strongest themes of 2019 collections, right up to the new fabric and print trends of summer 2020, Francesca Spinetta retraced the steps of ‘what has actually happened,’ bringing a panoramic vision of the past, present, and future of fabric trends, that is vital for decision making.
Participants were then able to find 2020’s new fabrics and accessories in the BEACHFABRICTRENDS20 section of the November issues of Linea Intima and Intima (for which 50 producers had been interviewed), present at the fair.
