MarediModa 2018 Launches

05 November 2018

The 17th edition of MarediModa, the international exhibition for beachwear, underwear and athleisure will take place from 6 to 8 November at the Palais des Festivals in Cannes.

Approximately 110 exhibitors will present at this year’s edition, an increase on 2017 that follows a consistent pattern of growth. This strong performance confirms the vigor and momentum of an event that, in terms of exhibitions and information, now offers visitors a complete overview of the sector in a professional setting that is both stimulating and dynamic.

Full of Novelties

Besides its historic partners, the 2018 edition will see important expositors returning in fabrics and printing (Liebaer, Les Tissages Perrin, Liberty Fabrics) and beautiful new entries in accessories (Secondo Stefano Pavese for jewel accessories, F.lli Leoni for elastic tapes, Epau Nova for cups). MarediModa 2018 will also see the debut of the Spanish group Nextil, presenting Ritex, Dogi and Anna Llop under one name for the first time. After their strong debut in 2017, the presence of lace manufacturers is reinforced this year, with the new beachwear & activewear developments of the major Italian players, the return of Chanty with a new beach lace capsule, and new entries intersecting with ready-to-wear, such as Erco Pizzi and, for embroidery, Embroidery Braga. The textile offer will be accompanied in 2018 by a range of design studios (new for 2018: Ivana Monguzzi and Studio Bernini) and a selection of private label garment manufacturers from the Euro-Med area, who will propose reliable partnerships, boasting a geographical and cultural proximity to visitors, for responsible production. These qualities are in increasing demand as an alternative to the productions of the Far East. Increasing even further, the 2018 outsourcing offer sees the presence of 15 companies: 6 from Tunisia, 1 from Romania, 3 from Italy, 3 from Portugal, a new company from Spain and one from Morocco.

Athleisure Takes Center Stage

The 2018 edition continues on a path that began two years ago and cements the opening of MarediModa to the Athleisure sector.
This year, more than 40 companies will present dedicated proposals for fabrics and accessories and within the Trends forum there will be a thematic area with a focus on the theme of Touch Base
Also of note is the debut of Athleisyou, a new project launched in collaboration with ISGMD fashion institute, which, in a dedicated area , will host prototypes of athletic garments made with the fabrics of some exhibiting companies.

MarediModa Trend Book is born

Great news for the 2018 edition: the release of the MarediModa Trend Book, the exclusive e-book created by the creative team of Anne Marie Commandeur and David Shah, with the participation of companies from the MarediModa pool. For the past two editions, under the guidance of the two experts Anne Marie Commandeur, Owner & Director of Stijlinstituut and David Shah, Trend Forecaster and Editor of View Magazine, the fair has been moving in a creative direction that come to fruition in the creation of the MarediModa trends forum and, from this year, with the launch of the first digital trends book to be presented at the fair. And, in the November issues of Intima and Linea Intima, you can catch an exclusive preview of what you will find there...
