Lisanza Handed Off

Taken over by a team of industry leaders, eager to re-launch the brand internationally

On February 4th, 2020, Lisanza announced its sale to a company composed of a team of directors with combined decades of experience in the textile, clothing, and retail sector. 

Intending to re-launch the historic high-end brand, the purchasing company, MRP s.r.l., led by Marco Calleri, has acquired the entire share capital of Lisanza (Maglificio Lisanzese SpA). Lisanza, which is to celebrate its 100th anniversary in the coming months, is already internationally present in the best multi-brand boutiques. The development plan provides for a broader and more targeted distribution and presence in its current markets as well as the strengthening of its presence in the high-growth markets, including Russia, Japan, Korea, and Asia in general.

The new CEO of LisanzaMarco Calleri, will lead the company; he has solid experience in the textile and clothing sectors, having held prominent positions at Cotonificio Olcese, Lovable, and Perofil. Calleri will be supported by directors such as Rosanna Buccaro, a former manager at Coin, OVS, Armani Group, in addition to her past collaborations with prestigious international brands, for the product development, marketing and communication, and Paolo Sammarone, who has previous experience at Gabel, Coin and Lovable for Lisanza's worldwide commercial development.

Marco Calleri expressed that he is delighted with the company’s potential and its products. He went on to explain that the development plan will be to expand the company internationally with positive secondary benefits for the Lombardy region of Italy and Italian-made products in general. Marco explained that Lisanza is a brand that had always represented excellence on the national and international stage and that being able to contribute to further developing this Italian lifestyle is a point of pride for him as well as an honor and a challenge.

Giovanni Carletto, representating the selling family, commented that he, his parents, and his brother Fausto are happy to have transferred the historical heritage of knowledge and passion of Lisanza that the family built over generations to Marco Calleri and his team. He went on to say that the family is certain that the skill and capital made available by the new partners will generate a new incentive to further strengthen Lisanza's position on the market
