Two weeks ago, Knixwear's (Canadian leakproof underwear brand) founder and CEO, Joanna Griffiths began sourcing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) supplies like masks and gloves for hospitals in need.
Griffiths contacted Knixwear’s suppliers in Asia, which informed her that they not only had access to the materials needed to make medical-grade N95 masks, surgical masks, and surgical gloves but that they could also make them in their facilities.
Knixwear started a GoFundMe campaign, they have raised over $150,000.00 (over $80,000 in the first three days!) and have ordered more than 50,000 masks and 50,000 gloves… and counting! Over 225 hospitals and clinics across Canada have asked for support. Hospitals, clinics, and labs that need extra protective equipment can make confidential requests to Knixwear here.
The company also partnered with the Robert Kerr Foundation, which is committing $200,000.00 to provide Toronto shelters with sanitizer, face masks, and gloves.
