Soon-to-Be Canadian Lingerie Brand Joins the Fight, Before Making Their Debut

Before the COVID-19 outbreak, Coco Lien and Alyssa Manning had been designing a lingerie line based in Vancouver, Canada.  Now, with the uncertainty of the future, they have put their dream project on hold to help in the fight against this invisible foe.

Lien and Manning were working with an experienced manufacturer in Vietnam to bring their lingerie to life.  At their request, this manufacturer has now freed up their production line, workers, and resources to produce cloth masks in-line with the Michael Garron Hospital Foundation's homemade mask guidelines (58% cotton, 37% polyester, and 5% spandex).

  Although these masks are not designed to replace N95 masks, surgical masks, or face shields -- by layering them on the outside and laundering them for reuse -- they can help to increase the longevity of the limited amounts of real masks.

During this early stage of manufacturing, Lien and Manning are relying on public donations to reach their minimum order requirement of 10,000 masks. Find out more about Lien and Manning’s initiative here.

The masks will be distributed to:
(1) The Michael Garron Hospital Foundation;
(2) Masks for Docs; and,
(3) Smaller clinics, hospitals, and to Canada Post mail carriers that have listed on Masks for Heroes.
