Invited by Intima Media Group in collaboration with WHITE Milano, selected buyers from the Worldwide Boutiques network have now returned home. Vanessa Sabeeney of Bikini Cabana in Trinidad and Tobago shares her impressions, standout discoveries and what she’s taking back from Milan.
What was your overall experience of Milan Fashion Week? What did you see, feel or notice during your time in Milan?
It was amazing! It was a great opportunity to see all of these amazing brands from Italy and Europe. I have been wanting to source brands outside of the US, and it was definitely incredible. I met some great vendors.
What was your impression of WHITE Resort? How did you find the selection, atmosphere and overall offer?
The selection was good. It was a great mix, I thought. I particularly loved the WHITE on the Beach section, as that was very beneficial to my store.
Which brands particularly caught your attention, and why?
Amosa, The Trisha Collection, Kiohne, Caterina Bertini, Costa Linda and Pink Memories were the ones I loved the most. The fabric prints were just absolutely gorgeous. They were different from what I sell at the shop, and it was exactly what I was looking for.
Did you sign any new brands or place any orders during your visit? If so, which ones, and what convinced you?
I did with Amosa, and I’m working on an order with The Trisha Collection now. But I will definitely order a few others for Spring/Summer 2027.
If you could take just one memory home from Milan, what would it be?
I’d take home the inspiration — the incredible designers, the connections made, and the courage to try something new by recording my very first podcast. Milan reminded me that there’s always room to grow, dream bigger and bring something new back home to the Caribbean.
