05 May 2026

Alistair Williamson appointed Vice President of Sustainability to structure the group’s roadmap

The Lycra Company has announced the appointment of Alistair Williamson as Vice President of Sustainability. This move reflects the company’s intention to place sustainability at the core of its value creation strategy, supported by recognized expertise and a clear understanding of the textile industry’s evolving challenges.

With an international career spanning EMEA, North America and South Asia, Alistair Williamson has held senior roles in marketing and business development. His experience, built first with polyamide fiber manufacturers and later within lycra fiber and related technologies, provides him with a comprehensive view of the value chain, its industrial constraints and its market dynamics.

In his new role, he will lead the group’s CSR roadmap, with the objective of structuring and scaling existing initiatives, while further embedding sustainability across product development, operations and innovation platforms. The stated ambition is to deliver textile solutions with a positive, measurable impact aligned with market expectations.

“The experience and vision of Alistair will accelerate our responsible strategy and strengthen our ability to anticipate the expectations of our customers and partners,” said Doug Kelliher, Executive Vice President of Product. “His leadership will support our continued commitment to delivering innovative, transparent and responsible solutions across the value chain.”

In recent years, The Lycra Company has implemented several initiatives in environmental responsibility, including the development of Renewable lycra fiber incorporating a majority share of bio-based raw materials, the expansion of recycled material offerings, and the achievement of third-party certifications aimed at enhancing transparency and traceability throughout the value chain.

“It is a privilege to take on this role at a pivotal time for the textile industry, which is increasingly moving towards more responsible practices,” said Alistair Williamson. “I am committed to making sustainability a driver of collective performance by mobilizing teams and strengthening collaboration with key industry stakeholders.”
