Like last year the trade show is early in the season. The dates obviously proved to be a winning choice?
Yes, after years of showing market week in July, we are pleased with the immense turnout from both buyers and brands to gravitate and shift their calendars with the new (earlier) calendar. Orders are not only able to be a bit more considered, giving buyers a bit more time to strategize; but brands have more time to work with their manufacturers, perfecting their collections and even entertain a variety of offerings like exclusive designs and retailer collaborations.

Do you think the current political and economic climate could influence attendance in any way and why or why not?
It is very hard to tell how the current economic climate will affect attendance on both brand and buyer fronts. Of course, we all know that for the last few years buyers have definitely become more selective with their orders but we know that standout collections always have a great season during market – and of course we hope that continues to be the case this season!
How many brands will be exhibiting?
As always, we expect several hundred brands to participate in our summer show! We’re very excited for both our veteran brands that show year after year like Gottex, Body Glove, Lauren by Ralph Lauren and Helen Jon along with new-to-market brands participating. We have an assortment of refined, niche, Turkish brands like Nefes, Jaquette and Taka, new to SwimShow, along with several others from Italy and Spain like Pho Firenze and Roidal. As anyone in the swim industry knows, fantastic brands also come out of Latin American countries like Brazil and Colombia! We're so excited to welcome back to SwimShow this season: Mar de Lua, Aguamaria, Ola Azul, Guria, Silvia Schaefer and MOS Beachwear to mention a few.
Besides Swim Lab, what other special events will you be staging?
We’re very excited for SwimTalks this season – a series of panel discussions and conversations with industry tastemakers. From experts in swimwear on the brand and design side to media, showroom directors, buyers and others who know the market well. We’re so excited to continue the conversation with several panels throughout the show dates. Another fantastic partnership we’re so happy to announce is with Mana Fashion, the division led by visionaire, Moishe Mana. Mana Fashion is launching a showroom in their Downtown Miami Headquarters, and they will bring a group of brands to the SwimShow floor and lead inspiring conversations with retailers and brands, alike.
Any particular brands we should look out for?
Of course, there are always so many! We have staple brands that have been consistently delivering a quality product like Hale Bob, Johnny Was, Red Carter and Rio de Sol and have shown year after year and have a great presence at retail level. We’re very excited for newer brands like Arun and Cupshe who have truly stood out and we believe will bring fresh and exciting collections to Miami.
As always, The Best of Swim magazine will be available at the show entrance for buyers and exhibiting brands.
