A symbol of audacity and freedom, Scandale was among the pioneers of the modern shapewear silhouette, leading the way in interpreting women’s tastes and needs toward lingerie that was softer, lighter, and a clear break from the restrictive codes of its time. Acquired in 2006 by the Hoplun Group, the brand now comes under the Maison Close umbrella, bringing this French heritage back into the spotlight through a spirit of renewal that remains faithful to the brand’s history and legacy.
To celebrate this rebirth, the Maison launches Rococo, a tribute collection drawing on Scandale’s corsetry heritage and reimagining it through Maison Close’s contemporary lens. The first drop, unveiled at the end of January 2026, will kick off a special year celebrating this new chapter in a whirlwind of creative expression.
“SCANDALE has always been part of my inspirational universe, as much for its creations as for its communication, particularly the campaigns illustrated by Gruau, which left a deep mark on my imagination” commented Nicolas Busnel, Founder & Designer of Maison Close.
“This brand has crossed my path many times. When Erik Ryd, founder and CEO of Hoplun, offered me the opportunity to take it over, I felt immense honor and deep recognition for the work I have accomplished over the past twenty years. I could not refuse such a proposal. The challenge is immense, but at Maison Close, we love ambitious projects: they are our driving force. The teams are galvanized by this new adventure”
