Set to drop in January 2019, BOUND by Bond-Eye’s upcoming collection campaign features alluring one-pieces and bikinis worn by models Kristina Mendonca and Cathlin Christina Ulrichsen, shot on location in Bali earlier this fall. But beyond the vibrant colors and cheeky cuts, what makes the range truly unique is its material.

Made from the original 80s MAXXAM fabric, which is a ribbed seersucker in a 3D crinkle texture with matte finish, the texture allows swimwear to stretch or contract, moulding to different body shapes and accommodating sizes 6-12. The fabric’s Nylon/Elastane composition lends it excellent stretch recovery, resulting in an inclusive swimwear collection that compliments all body types.
BOUND designer Mim Goode explains that the swimwear is so flattering because the fabric’s tubular construction doesn’t have side seams, allowing it to stretch over broader curves while still hugging waistlines. This fit ensures that every wearer feels beach-ready – and the new S/S19 campaign is certainly out to inspire summer envy.
When the range debuted in Miami two years ago, it made a splash among swimshow attendees for its retro fabric, reimagined in the silhouettes of the season. Now approaching its fourth year of production, the concept continues to thrive, with BOUND swimwear gracing the likes of models and influencers globally.
Ever true to its roots, BOUND by Bond-Eye is made locally in Australia but stocked in various locations around the world, from Dubai to Paris. In North America, the line is carried by stockists including Nordstrom, Lulu’s, Intermix and Pacsun.
