The Shimmering Summer 2019 Beachwear Fabric Trend

It's true that all things that glitter aren't gold...some are Summer 2019's brightest beachwear fabrics. An exclusive insight into Intima Media Group's Beachwear Fabric Trends 2019 dossier.

Bellieni’s New Caftans

With a primarily customized production with the development of prints and solutions custom made and on demand, Bellieni, in parallel with its offer of printed bases for swimwear, offers clients a service of manufacturing and marketing for beach ready-to-wear. The service has been developed internally with a dedicated production line, that for 2019, has grown to include an offer of prints and finished products dedicated to the caftan. We also find a collection of many new bases which bring out the best in Bellieni prints, such as, jacquards with geometric or cashmere textures, overprints with different designs, laser cut items derived from ready-to-wear and available for beachwear, swim fabrics and silk for beach ready-to-wear, fabrics printed with traditional techniques which are then finished with lacquer and sequins to create a beautifully visual embroidery effect.

Dogi’s Lurex Line

Metallic, shimmering effects: Dogi has interpreted this 2019 trend with a line of fabrics that showcases lurex’s shimmering effect in different, fascinating ways. Dogi proposes smooth fabrics where the polyamide is combined with a lurex yarn in gold, silver or iris, and striped fabrics, that combine semi-opaque yarns with a brilliant lurex. Using the previous two fabrics as a base, a printed version that has a bright, crystallized color effect is also available. What’s more, Dogi are also presenting a new sponge base and a new velvet which is adapted for both solid colors and prints.

Cevibi’s New Ice Treatment

For summer 2019, Cevibi has developed a new treatment, cleverly named Ice which gives swim fabrics an innovative glazed effect. From ethnic inspirations to faded looks, the “Ice Effect” microfibers offer a perfect base for printing to emphasize different printed designs. Designs are showcased through the almost mirror-like effect found on the surface of the fabric which gives it a strong visual impact.

Fada Tessuti Innovates with Sequins

Specialized in this field, the company has two new developments. Offered in monochrome with a color palette of 13 tones, their new sequin, embroidered on a bi-elastic base, keeps its color extremely well, even after contact with salt water. What’s more it is resistant to both hand and machine washing. The second development concerns sequins embroidered into a pattern. They reproduce the pattern so well in terms of design and color (see our photo!) that this is one of the key prints of the beachwear 2019 collection!

New Glam Effects from Sensitive Fabrics by Eurojersey

80s and 90s glamour is at its very best in their 2019 swim collection with new visual prints. The prints applied to the smooth ground of Sensitive Fabrics stand out like photographs, embellished with metallic opalescence thanks to the use of digital printing. This printing method reproduces iridescent, liquid effects and solarised reptile skin patterns in a palette of on-trend shades (think jade green, purple, fuchsia and carmine red). Super glamourous for elegant events by the pool or at the beach...

AP Sourcing Launches Glitter and Wiped Effects

For SS19, AP Sourcing is introducing new finishings for its accessories. Thanks to the application of a varnish that is then hand dried, the finishing has a “wiped effect”, which has a different look depending on which material it is used with. When used with metal accessories it adds an antique look, while when applied to plastic ones it creates a bleached effect. The pearled-glittered effect can be carried out on plastic items and is available as both transparent and colored. These new techniques are particularly nice on patterned items with a textured design.
