The Comfort Project Catches On!

“Together we can demonstrate our support and show our local health care workers our sincere appreciation for all they’re doing to keep us healthy and safe through this COVID-19 pandemic.”

Bliss Beneath in Barrie, Canada, store owner Tamara Disaverio, found herself asking the questions “How does a new, non-essential, temporarily closed small business give back to health care workers during an international pandemic?”
She found her inspiration when she stumbled upon The Comfort Project launched by Larisa Olson, owner of Chantilly Lace in Wilmette, Illinois, USA (read more here). Motivated to begin a similar effort, Disaverio launched Operation Nurture A Nurse. The initiative is focused on supplying care packages to the healthcare workers at the Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre (RVH) in Barrie.

In the first 44 hours of launching their initiative, Bliss Beneath already had 36 sponsored care packages ready for delivery! On April 16, the first 48 Nurture a Nurse community-sponsored care packages made their way to RVH! The care packages contain a pretty piece of soft and comfortable sleepwear from our shop with the size and a detailed description on the outside. Sponsorship costs $50, the sponsor’s name appears on the front of the care package, as well as a description of the goodies and a shoutout to Chantilly Lace.
