The Best of Swim was lucky enough to catch up with both Roy Turner, Show Director and Jane Preston, VP of Sales, to find what we can expect from this year’s edition.

What are your expectations for this summer’s edition? Do you have anything new planned?
Roy Turner: This summer’s edition is turning out to be another great Swim Collective. We’re welcoming some great new lines to our show this summer,  like Camilla, MGS, Rhythm, and Greenlee Swim along with our anchors like L*Space, ViX, and Vitamin A. We are planning a hosted Happy Hour with Herewith as our presenting Media Sponsor and are working with the fantastic team at Bollare for PR.

Are you happy with your show dates this year?
R.T.:Our dates are a tad early and sit on top of Paris this July, but moving the show dates earlier was a great plan, considering the shift in the traditional swim calendars. Going forward we feel our sweet spot will be just after Miami Swim.

What is your feeling on the current situation of the swim market?
R.T.:The swim market is struggling a bit as it becomes dependent on the weather. But the leaders in the industry are holding strong. We are seeing an emerging group of smaller brands entering the market as well.

How many exhibiting brands are you expecting? More or less then the past edition?
R.T.: We expect the show to consist of about the same amount of brands that we have averaged over the last few show cycles.

Can you name some interesting newcomers?
Jane Preston: We’re excited to feature quite few newcomers to our show, including Camilla Australia, MGS (Mary Grace Swim), Thalassa Boom, Rhythm, Greenlee Swim, Spiritual Gangster, KOA Swim and Odd Molly.

In your opinion, is there more synergy between swim and intimates or swim and sport?
J.P.: At this time, seems to be more with sport as Activewear has really become more mainstream. There is still synergy with initimates as swim manufacturers take into consideration that some of their pieces do pair well with sexier apparel (a swim top can be worn under a loose fitting or sheer top).

Three key words to describe your show?

R.T.: Short (in a good way), productive, gorgeous.
J.P.: Intimate, curated, urbane.
