Satab Presents a New Range of Connected Ribbons

European specialist in the textile field, Satab launches an exclusive worldwide line of smart textiles.
With a recognized savoir-faire in the textile world, Satab has developed a new range of smart textiles with a digital connection as well as a tailor-made process, accompanying its customers' projects in the field of smart textiles that is based on 3 essential steps: the identification of the need, the mockup and the final prototype. Beyond its ad hoc production, which responds to the specific needs of its customers, Satab proposes through its e-NF (e-Narrow-Fabrics) collection prototypes that allow designers to have access to Satab technology from the conception of their "e-textile" project. A complete range of conductive, interface, instrumented and braided electronic smart textiles that open up a wide range of possibilities in the fashion, home, industry, health and packaging sectors. This world première, which generated the filing of 4 patents, represents a collaboration between the world of textiles and electronics.
E-Narrow-Fabrics, an engine for the creation of smart textiles
The scope of this new range is vast and even boundless. From industrial companies to design offices, not forgetting training centres for engineers, designers, stylists or anyone else wishing to create connected objects using textiles, this new generation of intelligent ribbons may well be of interest to them. In the fashion world, e-ribbons can be an eye-catching or functional asset for instance when used as a headband for sport headlamps. For packaging, the gift wrapping itself can contain a message read by a smart phone. In the home, carpets and fabric wall coverings can incorporate marker lights. For personal or health protection equipment, connected ribbons can become multiple sensors: to detect heat, humidity, atmospheric pollution.
A complete ergonomic and intuitive range
To facilitate the use of the e-narrow line, Satab has developed a complementary range that includes 4 categories of smart textiles. E-narrow conductors carry energy but also information. E-narrow are equipped with instruments, such as a battery powered e-narrows with button cells, are used to power, pick up or operate the e-narrow conductors. The interface e-narrow, non-conductive, facilitate the connection, as the tape connects cables or tape-pass. Finally, the twisted e-narrow, containing 1 or 2 conductor wires, which can be equipped with a cable, are ideal for adding a touch of elegance to the electric wire of the lamps or to create embroidered patterns with a digital connection.

A double culture, textiles and electronics
The use of copper wires, coated in silver, ensures optimal welding. The latter are protected by areas with clearly identifiable seams, thanks to the colored threads that facilitate packaging. The electrical capacity of each conductive wire is also intuitively coded for the user, thanks to the color codes used for the seams. A distance of 2.54 mm between the conductive tracks makes it possible to adapt to all types of existing standard conductors. The integration of conductive wires offers flexibility and great softness to the touch and guarantees excellent electrical performance. Available in a wide range of colors, e-narrows are made up of a technical front cover and a personalized back cover that can be customized with silk-screen printing or transfer printing.
