Samanta Malavasi was born in Carpi, Italy, and she now lives and works between Italy and Germany.  Malavasi attended a painting course at the Academy of Fine Arts in Bologna, and she has followed several illustration courses in Italy as well as in Germany.

She is currently an artist and illustrator and works for fashion companies, she has been commissioned to paint a spring/summer capsule on fabric for an atelier in Modena, Italy, and in addition to this, she has also published many illustrated books with Italian and foreign publishing houses! 

... But not only that, she has exhibited her works in many galleries both in Italy and abroad!

Malavasi has taught several workshops about color, as color is what her art is based on.  She feels that color characterizes her in every role.  In discovering and recording her choices of color and ideas, she keeps a diary, or better yet, an artist's book that she always carries with her.  In it, she takes notes about all the ranges of color that she uses to paint.
Malavasi mainly draws her inspiration from expressionism; as the expressionist artists, she wishes to express moods and feelings through the violence of color, the synthesis of form, the incisiveness of the sign, as it is denoted in the design and in the colors of these illustrations.
