Intima Media Group Takes Cannes by Storm

MarediModa 2017 was held from the 7th to the 9th of November, at the Palais Des Festivals in Cannes, further cementing its popularity in the circle of international trade fairs by closing at a net growth 12% higher than 2016. The 16th edition of the event welcomed more than 3,000 buyers from Italy, France, Spain, England and Germany, with increased numbers of visitors from the United States and Russia; confirming the winning formula that combines a dynamic business environment in a relaxed and social atmosphere.


Feedback from visitors this year praises the quality of the ‘Made In Europe’ offer which was bigger than ever this year for both fabrics and accessories. From the world of athleisure, this segment was enhanced in terms of exhibitors through the presence of lace manufacturers with new R&D innovations in a sporty swim style and 2017’s innovations piqued the interests of buyers.  While an itinerary rich with conferences and events has always been a highlight of the show, this year Intima Media Group was first in line...

A long standing partner of MarediModa, Intima Media Group set up a large stand close to the conference room where our teams were able to interact with visitors, exchanging information and institutional knowledge.

On the French Riviera, Intima Media Group invited guests to dive in 1957 by celebrating our 60th anniversary. With a large poster reading ‘60 YRS’ positioned at the entrance of the event area, Intima Media Group closed the Cannes event in great style, enjoying a year ‘at the top’ from Paris to Florence to Milan…

Dynamic Attitude & Creative Excellence

On Tuesday, November 7th, the opening conference of MarediModa commenced at 11.30 am. Based on the concept of “Dynamic Attitude,” the conference set the tone to the rich agenda, full with information and insights, that was to follow.

The round table was moderated by Francesca Spinetta, Co-owner & Editorial Director of Intima Media Group. Focusing on the theme of ‘How to confront societal changes with respect to style and market,’ she was accompanied by the contributions of trend forecaster, David Shah, digital strategist and business developer, Massimo Giordani, athleisure brand representative, Ilana Kugel of Koral and Mauro Bellani of Invista/Lycra.

On Wednesday, November 8th, the MarediModa Creative Excellence Awards were held in order to recognize brands for their distinguished creative achievements, research, innovation and exceptional quality of products. The honorees this year were Banana Moon and the Van de Velde group. Marco Borioli, President of MarediModa, and Marco Pisani, President and co-owner of Intima Media Group presented the awards,  first to Bernard Donati and Karine Boyer- Owner and Head of Design of Banana Moon, respectively- and then to the Van de Velde team- made up of Carole Lambert (Brand Design Manager, Primadonna Swim), Clio Gyde (Material Engineer, Marie Jo) and Nuria Sarda (Design Manager, Andres Sarda).  

The 7th Edition of BEACHFABRICTRENDS, at Cannes

For the past 7 years, another sub-conference has taken place at MarediModa, which this year, was held on November 8th. The much anticipated Beach Fabric Trends conference, orchestrated by Intima Media Group, was once again a huge success!

Organized in partnership with the trade show and lead by Francesca Spinetta, the conference analysed the evolution of styles, colors and prints across the tiers of swim & beachwear. From the summer best sellers of 2017, determined by the interviews of a highly qualified panel of retailers across Europe and USA, to the trends followed by ‘top brands’ for their 2018 collections, to finally arrive at the anticipated S/S 2019 panorama of swim fabrics and accessories, all is presented in the BEACHFABRICTRENDS’19 Dossier of Intima and Linea Intima.  

This year, our editorials explored the intentions of 50 leading manufacturers of the 2019 swimwear themes proposed by MarediModa, analyzing the most interesting interpretations within collections and the new developments between fashion and R&D.
