Carvico and Jersey Lomellina Present Techno Luxury in Florence

Elegant and technical materials come together in new ways: from January 23-25, 2019, the modern pop installation made with the two companies' fabrics at Pitti Immagine Filati shapes the trends of the future.
Technicality and color are trending for the upcoming season, thanks to the magnitude of the Tokyo Olympics that will shift the world's attention to sports, further promoting the projection of street style onto mainstream fashion. To shed light on this trend, Pitti Immagine Filati has invited Carvico and Jersey Lomellina, for the first time ever, as special guests to create an original and provocative installation that explores color and materiality.
Curated by Angelo Figus with a layout by Alessandro Moradei, the exhibit comes to life in the Cavedio space of Florence's historic Fortezza da Basso. Here, Techno Luxury has staged a veritable cathedral of fabrics nearly 50 feet high, an explosion of color viewed by hundreds of visitors in a spectacular rainbow welcome. S/S 2020 is a contamination of shapes and materials. Knit and technofiber are seen combined and completing one another in a series of iconic garments: on display, circling the vertical installation, a special collection inspired by the trends of Spazio Ricerca presents 10 unpublished creations, for men and women, born from the combination of opulent and technical materials within the same garment.
Cashmere and polyamide, elegance and comfort, wool and polyester, technical and prized: the hybrid is the trend of the future, and Techno Luxury has anticipated it by proposing a new way of understanding fashion, luxury and performance. Now in evolution is techno-style, an aesthetic that's typical of the colors and fabrics produced by the two companies, in a high-impact fusion that unites opposites: the idea is to shorten the distance between two segments that are increasingly aligned - the technical and the luxurious, emphasizing the streetwear and swimwear expertise of Carvico and Jersey Lomellina as they trace influences, design a new style and shape trends between luxury and comfort.
Skateboard and surfing culture, street and beach looks - accepted categories become fluid, as the influence of the Olympic Games sees sport turning into a universal language that traverses fashion and upsets its old patterns.
