Spearheading the European field of high quality fabric production, TENCEL™ has launched a full collection with organic cotton through Portugal based Acabamentos Têxteis de Barcelos (ATB) which has been quick to assert itself and win over fashion manufacturers. At the start of 2020, TENCEL™ customers were strongly requesting a sustainable knitting with a soft hand. Developed as brushed and unbrushed fleece, the jersey and interlock fabric (MAFADG0018PV22) is composed of 40% TENCEL Lyocell and 60% cotton with a weight of 330 g/ m2. The fleece fabric has become a bestseller and has been elected a favourite by numerous brands operating in women’s fashion thanks to its fresh touch, clean look and well-structured composition.
TENCEL’s partnership with ATB was motivated by the Portuguese mill’s state of the art machinery park and highly skilled staff as well as high standards in all stages of production and its integrated information system ensuring control from reception to final testing and delivery. ATB’s respect for the environment is in line with TENCEL’s high standards in this respect and the Portuguese supplier holds numerous certifications including Environmental Certification ISO9001 (since 2005) as well as the Oeko-Tex label guaranteeing the nonexistence of harmful substances. TENCEL cellulosic fibres of botanic origin define a new standard of sustainability and natural comfort transforming fabrics to ensure their suitability to everyday consumer needs.
