Aspesi SS24 Collection

28 June 2023

Aspesi is known for its timeless style combining traditional clothing with a touch of sophistication

Aspesi is known for its timeless style combining traditional clothing with a touch of sophistication. Its aesthetic is rooted in a clean, understated look that incorporates casual garments with contemporary tailoring and high-end fabrics.
Key elements of Aspesi’s aesthetics include:
Timeless silhouettes: designs often feature eternal silhouettes, such as slouchy jackets, straight pants, classic shirts and nylon outerwear. These contemporary but also traditional shapes are designed to enhance a wide range of figures, and simply never go out of style.
Neutral color palette: the brand is known for its use of neutral colors, such as black, white, navy, khaki, and military green. These create a timeless, sophisticated look that’s versatile and easy to wear.
High quality fabrics: Aspesi uses high-quality fabrics to create luxurious yet comfortable clothing. Fabrics from the SS 24 collections include cotton for jacket-weight items and track pants, as well as poplin, linen and silk for both blouses and dresses.
Military details: the brand’s aesthetics often incorporate military details such as the iconic field jacket, cargo pants, work uniforms and workwear-style outfits. These details add a tou- ch of sporty elegance to the brand’s designs.
Aspesi’s elegant and timeless aesthetic has been riding the crest of a wave of popularity for decades. The brand’s designs are conceived to be worn over the years, bearing witness to the enduring appeal of a classic Italian style.
Nevertheless, each collection introduces new elements into the wardrobe, updating it with seasonal prints, fabrics and cuts.

With a nod to Californian, Hawaiian and Cuban floral prints, the SS 24 collection evokes the idea of souvenirs and the timeless iconic nature of a tropical holiday aesthetic. The collection also juxtaposes elements such as sequins and nylon with pastel hues, toned down by classic linen shirts. The sensuality of the ’90s comes alive in solid color or printed silk slips paired with light nylon military trench coats. Workwear and military items alternate with stripe-prin- ted elements. This collection combines the brand’s iconic pieces with items with a carefree summer flavour.
While retaining their classic aesthetic, the collection’s garments enhance the wearer’s au- thenticity and uniqueness. Aspesi enthusiasts often challenge the trends and dictates of tra- ditional fashion, while expressing personality and a sense of rebellion. This celebrates their individuality and encourages self-expression and the embracing of diversity.

Aspesi, unorthodox and innovative

A pioneering brand history ASPESI was founded by Alberto Aspesi in 1969 as a shirts brand and the first garment ever produced was a leopard print shirt for men.
In a time when the benchmark in the fashion industry were the Parisian haute couture houses, the Italian prêt-à-porter industry Aspesi started focusing on materials, wearable elegance, and offering new horizons to explore.
The brand evolved accordingly, producing pieces that were not only beautiful but also wearable and functional. By the end of the 70s, ASPESI expanded its product line, created collections for both men and women and established partnership collaborations with prominent designers like Franco Moschino, Walter Albini and Marco Zanini. In November 2020 Lawrence Steele has been appointed Creative Director.
A constant and rigorous textilere search has always been at the core of ASPESI’s essence and consistently guarantees product quality and approachable price points to the modern and discerning consumer.
The constant unorthodox and innovative approach dedicated to the products manifests itself in diverse artistic collaborations, starting with the advertising campaigns for ASPESI that has always chosen photographers who are able to capture and interpret the spirit of the brand (Peter Lindbergh, Robert Frank, Oliviero Toscani, Paolo Roversi).
The love for art remains a key value of the brand, from photographic images to architecture: the stores have always been designed with sought-after and niche furnishings, as well as with a range of accessories and clothes from other brands, as to recreate a "small market".
To this day, ASPESI remains faithful to its minimalist, sophisticated and timeless approach, and this is why it never goes out of style.
